My name is Anna. I’m from Amsterdam. I love my home-town, but… I can’t sit still. I have to move places. This started when I was 16 and moved to England for a few months, to live with a British host family. These were the best months of my life, as I met people from all over the world. Due to being part of this international society, I started traveling more and more, and would stay over at my friends’ places. I went back to England to do my bachelor degree in Psychology at the University of York, and lived with the three most amazing girls; from Greece, Serbia and India. We exchanged stories about our home countries and learned about different ways of thinking and living. After the three years with them in England, I went back to the Netherlands to do two masters at the University of Leiden: Clinical Psychology and Orthopedagogy. (In between I also went to Canada for half a year where I did an internship at a non-profit organisation called Big Brothers Big Sisters.). After finishing my studies, I moved to Scotland to work in a rehab centre. I now also work in a rehab, but back home. It’s a dream job, but I still love to travel, see different places, and experience as much of the world as possible. Writing is my favourite hobby and biggest passion alongside psychology. Therefore, I started this travel blog. Hope you enjoy reading it!

  1. Hoi Anna,

  2. Hi Anna! I’m so glad that I stumbled upon your blog. I love your perspective of the places that you’ve lived and visited, and I’m especially glad that you loved New York City so much when you visited, as it is my home city (and focus of my own blog). I really like that you are doing an internship for Big Brothers Big Sisters, one of my own favorite organizations. I have had two little sister matches over the years, and each one lasted about 7 years. I look forward to reading more about your adventures in the future! Best wishes, Susan

    1. Hi! Sorry for not replying sooner! This comment made me really happy 🙂 Glad to hear that you liked my view on NYC and how lucky that you get to live there!
I am living back in Amsterdam at the moment but I really enjoyed my time at BBBS, its a wonderful organisation. Best wishes!
